Abstract
WanDa, which is well known for its efficiency in strategic implementation, is the industrial leader of commercial real estate projects in China. This case systematically examines the source of WanDa’s competitive advantage, which is the effect of synergy across its organizational design and control, performance management, incentive system, and talent management system. The case also raises questions regarding the sustainability of such a competitive advantage during WanDa’s transition and organizational change toward a diversified strategy.
