Abstract

Facing decreasing net profits and other development challenges, China-based software giant Neusoft set up new strategies to foster innovation in its business model and enter into the consumer market. Pursuing an innovation initiative in the healthcare system, Neusoft established Xikang, a comprehensive full life-cycle healthcare management platform, in 2010. By connecting a variety of premium medical resources of medical institutions through advanced medical equipment and IT network technology Neusoft has developed, Xikang began providing multi-level and multi-dimensional healthcare services to several segmented customer markets. In addition, by collecting terminal data and transmitting the data to hospitals, the “Xikang health cloud” platform could offer a standardized health system for each individual to reduce health management cost and improve health management quality. Furthermore, Xikang operates as an ecosystem that integrates innovative health management technologies and applications. In this sense, Neusoft is gradually changing its B2B business model into B2B2C model, which means establishing a new partnership with operators to jointly deliver health services to consumers.
