Abstract

This case study describes the planning and process of the innovations and transformations made by RongChang in response to the profound influence of the Internet revolution on traditional industry. By overhauling its business model, RongChang has successfully redistributed its resources and organisational capacity. From creating an online e-Washing product to establishing a complete and systematic O2O (online-to-offline) platform, RongChang has achieved the full-scale transformation of its organisational and business model and broken through the development bottleneck of traditional laundry chain services. This case study gives a detailed description of how RongChang transformed and upgraded its O2O platform and reshaped the ecosystem of laundry services, by redesigning its operations, from production to logistics, marketing and customer service, and by restructuring its services with online and offline integration.
