Abstract

The boutique hotel, which entered the Chinese market in the year of 1980s and famous for its customized services, high-end decoration and targeted customers, gradually becomes popular and experiences its healthy development. Many well-known boutique hotels were seeking every opportunity to expand their scale through the development of hotel chains in China. Given the difficulties of standardizing boutique hotels with specialties, the expansion of the boutique hotel segment was slower than that of express chain hotel segment. During its first five-year development from 2009 to 2014, Blossom Hill sought for its unique development in differentiation, and succeeded in standing out for its perfect combination between the old house and the modern design, the services perceived of strong family atmosphere, etc. However, Blossom Hill was facing lots of challenges such as talent issues during its expansion in different regions.
